How Golf Club Shafts Have Shaped The Game

The rule of thumb is that as your natural "distance" increases, so does the stiffness of your ideal shaft. The wooden golf club shaft had, and still does, a distance limiting aspect which required players to play shorter than modern players, concentrating very much on effective course management.
